Brainstorm 1
Brainstorm 2
Brainstorm 3
This began as a class assignment to design a machine that shoots at a trash can, modeled in a previous task. Brainstorm 1 shows my initial designs, with the top-right one selected for further development in Brainstorm 2. I discarded the left design due to animation challenges. The right design is more practical, aiming for a real-world machine. Brainstorm 3 illustrates the machine’s components exploding, a key element of the animation. The order from oldest to newest; Brainstorm 1, Brainstorm 2, and Brainstorm 3.
Model Drafts
Draft 1
Draft 2
Draft 3
Draft 4
The earlier designs were too abstract for the realistic functionality I aimed for. Drafts 1 and 2 were impractical, while Drafts 3 and 4 were more grounded but still difficult to implement in a real-world setting. The order from oldest to newest; Draft 1, Draft 2, Draft 3, and Draft 4.
Final Design Model

Base Model w/ Rig
Base Model w/o Rig
Base Model w/ Wireframe
Base Model w/o Wireframe
This overview showcases the geometry, textures, and 2D-to-3D implementation, featuring the Model Video Preview, Base Model w/0 Rig, Base Model with Rig, Wireframe w/ Base Model, and Wireframe w/o Base Model.
Renders
Render 1
Render 2
Render 3
Render 4
These renders showcase the weapon from various angles, highlighting its machinery and function, with a side-by-side comparison to the trashcan. Inspired by claw machines and cranes, I aimed for an engaging weapon animation. I'm pleased with the texturing, which effectively captures metallic reflections. The order from oldest to newest; Render 1, Render 2, Render 3, and Render 4.
